 ANTOINE-MUSANGANYA THE RESOLUTION OF POLITICAL CONFLICTS AND THE PROSPECTS FOR RECONSTRUCTION IN THE DRC August 21, 2025 The DRC is facing a long and painful economic war that has caused the collapse of the state and the isolation of the nation due to the imminent danger of balkanization, redistribution, cession, and separatism waged by certain armed groups that present false claims. The war has caused the annihilation of the Congolese state due to the failures of the state and the failure of the FARDC. and widespread anarchy, compounded by political and social disorder, poor governance, the continued maintenance of democracy, the decline of the state apparatus, and political chaos, are perpetrated by an absolutist power that maintains its grip on the population and spreads oppression and fear by crushing all opposition and bloodily suppressing all demonstrations. The wishes of the population are not being realized because the Tshisekedi regime maintains authoritarianism, totalitarianism, or dictatorship. The country is ruled by a system of corruption, and authoritarian excesses are being recorded; President Felix-Antoine Hisekedi Tshilombo has concentrated all power. Tshisekedi's authoritarian, despotic, and tyrannical regime continues to keep the country in underdevelopment, and no efforts to rebuild and industrialize the country have yet been made. Economic war is the existential threat facing the DRC, but faced with the impotence of the President of the Republic and the government's inability to provide solutions to the country's underlying problems, the government is announcing a constitutional reform that could allow President Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to establish a dictatorship. The civilized world is envisioning the decline of democracy in the DRC, as the strongman in Kinshasa plans to tamper with the constitution and turn the DRC into a Fifth Republic, leading to regime change in order to seek a third term and maintain power. But the Washington process and the peace negotiations in Doha, Qatar, are making it possible to find a compromise and resolve political conflicts or end the war in the Congo.
