THE JUST PEACE IN D.R. CONGO

ANTOINE-MUSANGANYA THE DEFENSE OF DEMOCRACY, RESPECT FOR THE RULE OF LAW, PROMOTION OF INDIVIDUAL FREEDOMS, PROMOTION OF ECONOMIC GROWTH, INDUSTRIALIZATION OF THE COUNTRY, CREATION OF A DETERRENT ARMY, AND THE PROSPECT FOR DEVELOPMENT August 20, 2025 The security situation in the DRC is worrying. The eastern part of the Congo is mired in economic turmoil following the economic war waged by foreign powers, Western, Eastern, and southern, who operate in the shadows and support neighboring countries, including Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi, which are destroying the Congolese nation and illegally exploiting mineral resources through rebel movements claiming to be Congolese, and who are waging a merciless armed struggle with summary abuses, human rights violations, and make false claims by which they present themselves as liberators of a nation placed under domination and yoke and show the world that they are coming to break the omertha by securing the security of the Congolese population and defending the interests of the Congolese state against the democratic and liberal regime of Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, which they consider authoritarian, despotic, and tyrannical, or claim to be waging an armed struggle to conquer Congolese territory and depose the President of the Republic in order to put an end to bad governance, the maintenance of democracy, and totalitarianism, lexus and cassis belli for which the Tshisekedi regime or the former regime of Joseph Kbila Kabange are accused. The rebel movements operating in the DRC, including the M23, which has emerged as the main armed group still active in the eastern part of the country, focus on the major problems of Congolese society, such as poverty, inequality, division, the decline of democracy, underdevelopment, anti-values including corruption and cronyism, nepotism, a culture of impunity, widespread anarchy, state failures, political and social disorder, and the instrumentalization of the justice system—illnesses facing the country. In the west of the country, the Mobondo and Mai-Mai are destabilizing the country. They are leading offensives in the provinces that make up the former Bandundu. Clashes are causing massive loss of human life, but this conflict remains less well-known because the international community is not putting forward enough resolutions or proposing enough solutions; there are fewer declarations from world powers, particularly the United States of America, the European Union, the African Union, China, Russia, etc. A deeper involvement of the United Nations and the African Union to find a solution to this crisis has not yet been recorded. Sporadic fighting is recorded even in the capital, Kinshasa. Exoneration of the situation could lead to one of the worst civil wars the DRC has ever known. Notwithstanding the eastern part of the country which is plunged into civil war, armed militias are sowing terror and desolation across the national territory, largely the Mai-Mai, rebel movements created by neighboring countries including Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi and rebel factions created by black sheep or poorly positioned politicians who turn their weapons against their own country and wage an armed struggle to conquer power, hoping to be assigned portfolios in the national unity governments formed to end political conflicts or to resolve political and security crises. Because of the armed groups operating throughout the Congolese territory, we can say that the D.R. Congo is a battlefield. A myriad of armed groups are listed. Political conflicts, the inflationary crisis, the deprivation of freedoms, and the political, security, and social crisis are the main obstacles to political developments in the DRC. The Washington process, the Doha peace negotiations in Qatar, and the agreements concluded between the United States of America and the DRC herald a development outlook and could lead to the emergence of the DRC.
